Multiple members have reported receiving spoofed phone calls from scammers that appear to be coming from Bay Atlantic FCU. The caller is telling members that there is fraud on their account and that their account has been compromised. Reports note that members are specifically being asked for their debit card information (number, expiration date, security code, PIN) and their Online Banking login credentials. In several instances, the callers also asked for the security/multi-factor authentication code to gain access to Online Banking.
We want to remind our members that under no circumstances will the credit union contact you and ask for sensitive personal information, such as:
Account number
Social security number
Debit card number, expiration date, security code, and/or PIN
Online banking login credentials
Security or multi-factor authentication code
If fraud is detected on your account, our automated Fraud Detection System will contact you by call or text. Both the automated call and text (shown below) will only ask you to confirm recent charges attempted on your account. Again, we will never ask for any sensitive personal information when notifying you of potential fraud.

If you are concerned that you have fallen victim to a spoofing scam or are concerned about the legitimacy of a call, please do not hesitate to contact the credit union immediately. The sooner you speak with a representative, the more options we have available to help mitigate loss! Call the credit union directly at 856-696-2525 or 877-590-8866 toll-free.
